Local detail

Cats in Barnet

Barnet is one of London's most populous boroughs, stretching from Golders Green, Hendon and Finchley in the south up to Edgware, Mill Hill and Chipping Barnet on the edge of Hertfordshire. Much of it is suburban: streets of Edwardian and interwar houses and semis with long gardens in Finchley, Whetstone, Mill Hill and Edgware, and the Hampstead Garden Suburb with its hedges and closes. There are also plenty of flats, from mansion blocks in Golders Green and conversions in Finchley to the large new developments at Colindale and around Brent Cross. Cats in the houses often have outdoor access through a cat flap and share their gardens with foxes; those in the flats, or near the North Circular and the A1, are usually kept indoors. Most visits start at a front door or a keysafe, with concierge or fob entry in the new blocks. Describe the way in on your Care Card and send any codes to your sitter in the booking chat. With both branches of the Northern line running through the borough, a sitter nearby can fit visits around their day.
