Local detail

Cats in Haringey

Haringey covers Highgate, Muswell Hill and Crouch End in the west and Wood Green, Tottenham and Seven Sisters in the east, and the homes change a lot from one side to the other. The west is mostly Edwardian and Victorian terraces and mansion blocks on hilly streets, many split into flats, with gardens backing onto each other and Alexandra Park and Highgate Wood close by. The east has more estates, flats above shops and newer blocks around Tottenham Hale, alongside long terraced streets in the Ladder and Harringay. Cats with gardens here often roam between them and are used to foxes; those in flats near the busy roads, like the A1, Green Lanes and the High Road, are usually kept indoors. Most visits start at a front door or a buzzer, and upstairs flats in conversions can mean a steep flight of stairs. Describe the way in on your Care Card and send any codes to your sitter in the booking chat. The Piccadilly and Victoria lines and the Overground cross the borough, so a sitter nearby can keep to your cat's morning and evening times.
