Local detail

Cats in Hillingdon

Hillingdon is London's westernmost borough, stretching from Ruislip, Northwood and Harefield in the north through Uxbridge and Ickenham to Hayes, West Drayton and Heathrow in the south. The north is some of the greenest, most suburban land in London: interwar semis and detached houses with long gardens in Ruislip, Eastcote, Ickenham and Northwood, with woods and the Colne Valley close by. Hayes and West Drayton mix older terraces, estates and newer flats, and Uxbridge town centre has flats and new blocks near the station. So many cats here roam gardens that back onto each other, often through a cat flap, and they share them with foxes; those in the flats and near the A40 and the airport roads are more likely to be kept indoors. Most visits start at a front door or a keysafe, with fob entry in newer blocks, so it helps to describe the way in on your Care Card and send any codes to your sitter in the booking chat once they've accepted. With the Metropolitan, Central and Piccadilly lines and the Elizabeth line at Hayes and West Drayton, a local sitter can get between visits easily.
