Local detail

Cats in Merton

Merton covers Wimbledon, Raynes Park and Colliers Wood in the north and Morden and Mitcham further south. Wimbledon and Raynes Park are mostly Victorian and Edwardian terraces and larger houses, many with gardens, alongside mansion blocks and flats near the town centre; Morden has streets of interwar houses from the 1920s and 1930s; and Mitcham mixes older terraces, estates and new developments. So plenty of Merton's cats have outdoor access through a cat flap and share their gardens with foxes, while those in flats, especially near busy roads like the A24 and the A3, are more often kept indoors. Wimbledon Common, Mitcham Common and Morden Hall Park give the borough plenty of green space. Most visits start at a front door or a keysafe, with fob entry in newer blocks, so it helps to describe the way in on your Care Card and send any codes to your sitter in the booking chat once they've accepted. With the Northern and District lines and the tram, a sitter living nearby can keep to your cat's morning and evening routine.
