Local detail

Cats in Enfield

Enfield is London's northernmost borough, running from Palmers Green, Southgate and Winchmore Hill in the south-west through Enfield Town to Edmonton and Ponders End in the east, with open green belt, Trent Park and the Lee Valley on its edges. Much of it is suburban: Edwardian and interwar houses with long back gardens in Palmers Green, Winchmore Hill, Southgate and Bush Hill Park, and older terraces and estates in Edmonton, Ponders End and Enfield Highway. That means many cats here come and go through a cat flap into gardens that back onto each other, and foxes are common. Flats around Enfield Town, Edmonton Green and the newer developments by the stations are more likely to have indoor cats, especially near the North Circular and the A10. Most visits start at a front door or a keysafe, so it helps to describe where the key is kept and where your cat likes to hide on your Care Card, and send any codes to your sitter in the booking chat once they've accepted. With the Piccadilly line, the Overground and trains into Moorgate and Liverpool Street, a local sitter can keep to your cat's morning and evening routine.
